Tianjin Maritime Court held Constitution Oath-taking Ceremony

December 4th, 2019 marked China's sixth National Constitution Day. Tianjin Maritime Court held a series of activities, such as constitutional oath-taking ceremony, open day event, legal lectures and law popularization in communities as celebration of the National Constitution Day.

On December 4th, Tianjin Maritime Court held a constitutional oath-taking ceremony. Li Xiujie, President and Secretary of the Leading Party Group of the Court, led the ceremony. Li Xiujie pointed out that the oath-taking ceremony was of great importance to carry forward the spirit of the Constitution, safeguard the authority of the Constitution, further promote the rule of law and speed up the construction of a society under the rule of law. She emphasized that all of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel should always bear our oaths in mind, keep our original aspiration and mission firmly in mind, fulfill our duties, be loyal to the constitution and live up to the earnest trust people place in us. Li Xiujie put forward four requirements. Firstly, all of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel should firmly strengthen our consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, uphold the leadership core, and keep in alignment, fortify our confidence in the socialist path, theories, system and culture with Chinese characteristics, resolutely safeguard the authority of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core and its centralized, unified leadership and uphold the Party's absolute leadership over the Court. All of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel should be firm believers, loyal practitioners and forceful disseminators of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Secondly, All of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel should firmly establish the awareness of the constitution, abide by the principles of the Constitution, faithfully perform the duties entrusted to us by the Constitution and the law, and safeguard the unity, dignity and authority of the country's legal system. All of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel should try our best to make the people feel fair and just in every judicial case.Thirdly, all of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel must bear our mission in mind, act in full compliance with the deployment of the Central Committee, the Municipal Party Committee and the higher courts and carry out the maritime trials and enforcement racing against time. Fourthly, all of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel must abide by the rules and discipline, integrity and professional ethics. All of the judges, court staff, and judicial personnel should keep the red line of law in mind, build a strong ideological line and adhere to the moral bottom line.
