Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said on Wednesday the CPC stands ready to exchange views on major theories with the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and learn from each other's good experiences on governance.
President Xi made the remark in a congratulatory message sent to the fourth CPC-PCC Theoretical Seminar. The two-day event, which is being held via video link, finishes on Thursday.
As both countries and parties are faced with new tasks in the new era, Xi said that the seminar comes at the right time and has significance for China and Cuba to explore their own paths of socialist development, which fit their respective conditions.
Xi said the CPC and the PCC are the core leadership of their country's socialist cause.
Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC in 2012, the CPC has led and united the Chinese people to make historic achievements in reform and opening-up as well as socialist modernization, Xi said. The Eighth Congress of the PCC has drawn a blueprint for Cuba to build prosperous, democratic and sustainable socialism, he said.
Through in-depth communications, the two parties will be able to make constant progress in promoting their respective party work and advancing the socialist cause, Xi said.
