Recently, the first maritime simulation court in the Bohai Rim region was held at the Tianjin Maritime Court. This event is hosted by the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport, and jointly organized by the Tianjin Maritime Court and four directly affiliated maritime bureaus in Tianjin, Liaoning, Hebei, and Shandong. More than 40 maritime law enforcement personnel were present to observe, and the national directly affiliated maritime system remotely observed through video live streaming.
The simulated court is presided over by a judge from Tianjin Maritime Court, and law enforcement officers from four maritime bureaus in the Bohai Rim region serve as judges, plaintiffs, defendants, and other litigation roles. The activity case focuses on the controversial issues encountered in maritime administrative penalties under the newly revised and implemented Marine Environmental Protection Law of the People's Republic of China. Based on a virtual administrative penalty case of illegal discharge of pollutants by a ship, it intuitively reproduces the entire process of court investigation, court debate, and final statement.
